Pear, Vanilla & Lime Jam

Ingredients

  1. 3 Bartlett pairs, or equal amount of smaller edible pears from your yard

  2. 1/4-1/2 cup sugar (I prefer my jams less sweet)

  3. 1/4 cup water

  4. Juice of half of a large lime

Directions

  1. Peel the pears and cut into smaller chunks

  2. Combine pear, sugar, and water in a small saucepan

  3. Bring to boil then let simmer for 20-25 mins until pears are easily smashed

  4. Use a masher to mash the pears to a jam like consistency

  5. Remove from heat and add the lime juice

  6. Let cool on the counter top, then transfer to fridge.

  7. Enjoy!

(Pear)ing Ideas

Can you tell I love a good pun? This jam pairs great with turkey, and of course homemade sourdough. Smear it on toast, or add it to a turkey, ricotta, sourdough sandwich.

Bonus

Not only is it tasty, but it makes your home smell divine! Put it on the stove before you have guests, or while you’re cleaning.
